Angela Elizabeth (ne Pizzey) Davis was born in Middlesex, England in 1926. She received her Registered Nurse diploma from King's College Hospital in 1948. She married Dr. Royden Davis in 1950 and they emigrated to Canada in 1951. Davis had five children: Sara, Christopher, Jonathon, Rowan and Michael. Davis returned to school in the mid-1970s and received her B.A. (Hons.) in History from the University of Winnipeg in 1977. She earned her M.A. in History in 1979 from the same institution. In 1987, Davis received her Ph.D. from the University of Manitoba. During this time, Davis received many academic awards. From 1975 to 1994 Davis worked in the field of education, both at the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg. Her fields of interest were British and Canadian social and cultural history, as well as art history, and prairie women's history. Davis published several articles, university texts, and other publications. Davis was involved in many aspects of the history community, including consultation, research, committees, and conferences. She was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1994 and died 16 October 1994.
