Administrative history
St. Paul's United Church has existed in the Ontario community of Thunder Bay since 1925. Its predecessor was St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, built in 1914. The previous church, built in 1884, that had since become Waverley Hall was destroyed by fire in 1927. St. Paul's United Church sponsored and built the Memorial Youth Centre, which was dedicated September 27, 1953. A manse was constructed on the property around the same time. In the 1950s, stained glass windows were installed in the sanctuary. A Casavant organ, with over 3500 individual pipes ranging from less than an inch in length to one of 16 feet in 1964-1965. An elevator was installed to make the sanctuary more accessible. In 1992, a senior's housing complex, St. Paul's Place, was added to the Memorial Youth Centre. Through the years the church also supported Current River Church.
